Basic AutoLink.lookup...

Basic AutoLink.lookup is a software product selling tool which lets etailers easily sell application specific automotive accessories. It starts with the manufacturer's vehicle specific data, pictures and selling information. The data is organized and coded by product category, brand, product line and any other necessary fields to insure the fastest possible lookup response time through a programmatically generated search. Next, using the manufacturer's pictures and selling information product presentation selling pages are created to "show and sell" the products. The completed Basic AutoLink.lookup product is hosted and managed by ConfigureTech, so the etailer is not forced to do the "heavy lifting" of managing and updating the manufacturer's data and developing some type of selection and presentation program. Select support areas and all manufacturer's updates are handled by ConfigureTech, ensuring the etailer's selling site is always up-to-date.

How does the etailer use the product?

Normally the etailer creates the manufacturer specific product category or product line selling page, or pages, within their normal website structure. When the consumer has reviewed this page, or pages, and now wants to see exactly what is available for their particular vehicle, a link button is created for the lookup function. The consumer clicks on the link button and is linked to ConfigureTech's Basic AutoLink.lookup site. The Basic AutoLink.lookup site uses the etailer's header and footer graphics for transparency. Starting with a Vehicle Identifier the consumer enters the year, make, model, and any product line specific unique vehicle features and is presented with product(s) which fit that specific vehicle. The consumer enters the quantity for any selected products and clicks on the Add To Shopping Cart button at the bottom of the page. When the Add To Shopping Cart button is clicked, all the pertinent data, such as year, make, model, unique features, price, and any other agreed to data is automatically passed back to the etailer's site and into their regular shopping  cart.

Setup of the above linking is handled by phone between the tech department at the etailer and the tech department at ConfigureTech. There is no pertinent customer specific data, such as, customer name, address, phone, credit card number, etc., passed between sites. Simply an etailer code (which is assigned by ConfigureTech), the etailer's customer session ID, and product codes for the products being looked up are passed from the etailer's site and ConfigureTech's Basic AutoLink.lookup site. If the etailer has their own year, make, model, lookup features for their entire site and can pass that information to our Basic AutoLink.lookup site, this will eliminate the consumer having to enter this information again in the AutoLink.lookup site.

To learn more click on the Demo Site heading at the top of this page. We'd like to thank Stampede Products and Lloyd Design Corporation for allowing use of their company's information as part of this demo. The demo site opening page represents the etailer's web page and allows the consumer to select a particular product or group of products, which seamlessly passes them to the Basic AutoLink.lookup site to begin the lookup process. In this case, we've created intermediate pages allowing the shopper to choose among all Stampede products, just Stampede Chrome products or just Stampede Camo Family products. For Lloyd Mats the shopper can choose any one of their four product lines. After selecting the year, make, model, and any unique features for that product category the page brings up all available products for that vehicle application. The consumer can then click on the small picture on the left side to see a large pop-up picture of the product along with additional selling copy. This pop-up page can be linked to warranty information and/or installation information as well as additional pictures, videos or sound files which may add to the selling environment. After reviewing all available products, the consumer can select one, or several different products by entering a quantity in the quantity field. They click on the "Add To Cart" button at the bottom of the page and all agreed upon data is passed back to the etailer's shopping cart for each product selected. Several variables such as freight charges, oversize shipping information and factory direct ship status can be displayed.

Who pays for Basic AutoLink.lookup?

ConfigureTech has plans for both the manufacturer or the etailer depending on the circumstances.

For manufacturers looking to increase their sales through the etailer channel, the Basic AutoLink.lookup product is an excellent selling tool. It basically is a "turnkey" approach to selling most etailers. The etailer isn't required to spend the time and money necessary to develop the manufacturers application specific data and create multiple selling presentation pages, thus making it much easier and less costly for the etailer to add the manufacturers products. With this plan the manufacturer pays a one time development fee and is then charged a monthly hosting, updating and connection fee based on the number of etailers connected. ConfigureTech works directly with the manufacturer and connects etailers to Basic AutoLink.lookup at the request of the manufacturer. The manufacturer can either charge the etailer for using the product or, depending on sales volume, make it available at no charge.

To offer the etailers with the broadest range of manufacturers and product lines possible, ConfigureTech has developed a second plan. For those manufacturers who choose not to pay the one time development and monthly hosting, updating and connection fee, but are willing to supply ConfigureTech with their data, pictures and selling information, ConfigureTech will add these manufacturers to Basic AutoLink.lookup at it's expense. In this plan ConfigureTech works directly with the etailer and will charge the etailer a small one time set-up fee and an on going monthly connection fee for each manufacturer connected to Basic AutoLink.lookup.

Data management and graphics professionals work directly with the manufacturer to insure the data and graphics are correct and organized in such a way as to make it easily searchable for the programmatically generated lookup and selection process.
